Unlock valuable sustainability insights by adding your farm data to MSC

Each data input you provide, whether through a software connection or a complete manual entry, fills in more of your dashboard.
While it's not required to connect your farm software to MSC, it does help reduce manual effort for the initial setup and monthly updates.

What data powers which insights?

MSC analyzes your farm based on five key data areas: Herd, Milk, Ration, Field, and, Purchases and Sales. Each of these data areas contribute to the insights on the three available dashboards:

  • Farm overview

  • Carbon footprint

  • Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE)

You can enter your data manually or connect farm software to automate parts of the process.

Save time by connecting your data

Connecting software means faster setup and less work each month. Below is an estimation of how much time each method takes.
You can mix and match the approach. Start with connecting the data you have available, enter the rest manually and expand your software connections over time.

Are monthly updates required?
No, it is not necessary to monthly update your data. However, until all past months are updated, your dashboards may appear incomplete and certain insights may not reflect the most recent changes. Make sure all months are up to date before using your dashboards to analyze your farms sustainability to ensure complete an accurate dashboards.

If you’re working with manually entered data, you will need to update new months manually.

If you’re working with connected software, your software connections will automatically update the data in MSC on a monthly basis. Occasionally you may need to make manual adjustments on certain areas to ensure completeness.
